Raising Confident, Skin-Smart Kids: A Mother’s Perspective on Glow &Go
By Jessica Rongonui
As a mother of three and a registered nurse, I’ve always believed that healthy habits begin early. Just as we teach our children the importance of brushing their teeth every day, I believe caring for their skin should be part of that foundation too.
With an eight-year-old daughter beginning to take an interest in skincare, I wanted to ensure that her first experience was safe, age-appropriate, and empowering. That’s what led me to Glow & Go.
Building Healthy Habits from the Start
From a young age, I’ve encouraged all three of my children to wash their faces with a warm face washer and water. Healthy skin habits, like good dental hygiene, start early.
Daily sunscreen in our home is non-negotiable — rain, hail, or shine. As someone who works in healthcare, I understand the long-term impact of sun exposure and the importance of prevention. It feels only natural to want that same level of care and protection for my children.
When I began looking for a skincare brand for my daughter, I was searching for products that were gentle, clean, and specifically designed for young, delicate skin. I didn’t want adult products repackaged for kids. I wanted something thoughtfully created for her age group.
Why Glow & Go Stood Out
What first drew me to Glow & Go was its commitment to clean ingredients and thoughtful branding. The packaging is fun and engaging, yet still completely age-appropriate. It celebrates pre-teens without pushing them to grow up too quickly — and that balance is incredibly important to me.
I also appreciate that the products were created by a dermatologist specifically for children. Knowing there is expert guidance behind the formulations gives me real peace of mind.
Safety is my number-one non-negotiable when it comes to my children, and Glow & Go clearly prioritises gentle, age-appropriate ingredients. It’s refreshing to see a skincare range that respects this age group instead of objectifying or over-maturing them.
The Right Time to Introduce Skincare
I decided to introduce Glow & Go when I noticed my daughter developing small pimples on her forehead. Around the same time, she asked if she could start using my face wash. That was my cue — she was ready to begin learning simple skincare habits of her own.
Rather than handing her products formulated for adult skin, I wanted something designed specifically for her stage of development. Glow & Go felt like the perfect balance between effective care and gentle simplicity.
What I Look for in a Skincare Brand
When choosing skincare for my daughter, I prioritise:
- Safe, gentle ingredients
- Products genuinely designed for her age group
- Age-appropriate marketing and messaging
- Brands that nurture confidence without accelerating maturity
I want her to enjoy caring for her skin in a way that’s simple and empowering, while still allowing her to be a child.
More Than Just Skincare: Confidence & Independence
Glow & Go has become a small but meaningful part of my daughter’s daily routine. She cleanses her face in the evening while she’s in the shower. It’s quick, effortless, and easy to maintain — which is essential in a busy household.
More importantly, it’s given her a sense of autonomy. She loves being able to take care of her own skin, and having clearer, smoother skin has helped her feel less self-conscious.
That small routine has built confidence and independence in a really healthy way. My hope is that Glow & Go continues to support not only her skin, but also her self-esteem.
If a product can teach good hygiene, nurture confidence, and encourage independence all at once — that’s a win.

A Brand I Trust as a Mother
Overall, my experience with Glow & Go has been incredibly positive. It has made introducing skincare to my daughter simple and stress-free. I feel confident knowing the products are gentle, safe, and specifically created for children.
As a parent, that level of care and consideration makes all the difference. And yes — the packaging is super cute, which definitely helps.
I would absolutely recommend Glow & Go to other parents of pre-teens or teens who are looking for a safe, thoughtful, and confidence-building introduction to skincare.
